CV Background: Irene Harmsworth

My artwork practice started once I left Melbourne and moved to Sydney, after gaining formal art education Diploma Fine Arts. I operated an art studio in Sydney where I sketched and painted for art collectors – mainly portraits.  In the early to mid-2000’s I worked as a Graphic designer and illustrator/painter for Mining NSW and later for Navy Defence HMAS Albatross, Nowra NSW. In Victoria I was selected for various exhibitions and competitions, such as “Art Town” live art group exhibition in South Yarra, Melbourne.  At the Ballarat Regional Art Gallery and Avoca information centre Victoria selected for group exhibitions with my paintings and drawings, and 2022-2024 in Australia and Internationally. Exhibition at the Library /Gallery at Batemans Bay NSW, Robe Institute South Australia, Canberra, and various international Group exhibitions for Collect Art, Boomer Gallery London, and Miami Florida, Italy and Germany. Inspiration can be from many sources such as in nature and the place where I live. Achieving new techniques that I have never tried before and exploring different art materials is inspirational to develop a better piece of artwork.
