My paintings 'At the Table' and 'Pink Dress Sydney with Parrots' has been selected for a group exhibition created to showcase the wonder of the natural world through art featuring animals. Applications were open to all artists, from emerging too established, in any medium. The exhibition shows a wide range of approaches and responses to the theme, the diversity of works reflects the myriad of creatures around us as well as the diversity of artistry & creative approaches. Opening night 8 August was a huge success.

My painting “Abandoned in the Forest” has been selected as a finalist in the Remagine Exhibition which will take place at Wallarobba Arts and Cultural Centre, 25 Edgeworth David Avenue, Hornsby, and run from Friday 13 June to Sunday 29 June 2025.
Remagine Art Prize is an environmental art prize dedicated to bringing awareness of environmental challenges such as waste and consumption. Held in partnership with the Hornsby Art Society since 2009, Remagine Art Prize is delivered and sponsored by Hornsby Shire Council.
This year’s theme ‘RE:THINK TO RE:PURPOSE’ refers to the decisions we make each day about how much waste is created, and how materials can be reused to help save precious natural resources. The extraction of raw materials, production, transport, and consumption directly affects the environment, including native wildlife, aquatic species, and birdlife.
Artist Statement: How often do we see abandoned furniture, cars or rubbish on the road side or in paddocks lying around even supermarket trolleys. In my oil painting on canvas "Abandoned in the Forest “ is a view depicting a piece of furniture in decay that I noticed while traveling through a regional country town. The armchair could have been recycled and taken apart and refurbished to become piece furniture again, instead of slowly disintegrating in the forest. Not all abandoned rubbish/furniture disintegrate

Ghost Nets and Sea Turtles, selected for the Southern Ocean Art Prize Award
Exhibition Dates
Friday 1 - Sunday 10 November
Robe Institute, Robe SA

The dangers of ghost nets on sea turtles and other marine life are well documented but there remains the problem that the unwanted nets are often still floating around causing problems. “This is especially concerning, as Northern Australia and the Torres Strait are a feeding and nesting ground for six of the seven turtle species in the world (from Sea Museum)” My acrylic painting is about bringing awareness to the dangers of discarded and unwanted nets.
